Bookah is a term from the original Guild Wars series. The Asura, a race with very high cognitive abilities, use it for referring to other “sentient” beings that they deem intellectually inferior to themselves – so basically, every other race that exists in their world. In the game, it is often used towards humans.
We are both big fans of the original Guild Wars and when we tried to find a nice name for our blog, we figured that this would be a nice slightly self-ironic and fitting title. We are definitely nerds and we are humans, so when joking around trying to come up with a good idea, we immediately fell in love with “Nerdy Bookahs” and decided that this is what we want for our blog’s name.
