Answering one of my own prompts here:
If you could – or had to – live in an MMO world for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
Obviously, I can only really choose from the MMOs that I have played in the past and know the world of. My first MMO was World of Warcraft and I could imagine living there. Additionally, they have outhouses. Hygiene should be a factor in that decision, right? But there is just too much war going on. Which, when you look at MMOs, seem to be a quite common factor. Take Rift, for example. This game involves time-travelling in a world that was destroyed already in the near future. One of the two playable factions start by going back into the past in order to avoid the destruction of the world.

I will be honest here and admit that I have no idea about the overarching story that Wildstar had. That whole planet was quirky, though. But I think I would prefer a different setting. On the other hand, maybe the world of Star Trek with Star Trek Online would be interesting! I would prefer a rather peaceful corner of the world and I am not sure that even exists. Maybe I would find a remote little planet, though…

At the moment, Guild Wars 2 would also be a good choice. There is no longer the threat of the world’s extinction looming over everybody’s heads! I could see myself living in Lion’s Arch, close to the sea! Of course, I would prefer the old Lion’s Arch over the current version, but it is still very pretty to look at!

And where is Lord of the Rings Online standing in the current story? Although knowing that the One Ring will be destroyed, maybe this one would be a good choice as well… preferrably somewhere in Hobbington and the likes. A peaceful area far away from orcs and there is always an abundance of food available!
Yes, Lord of the Rings Online looks like a good choice (unless the Scouring of the Shire happens… then rather Guild Wars 2!).
