Please note: It’s “April” with “Bl” in front, not “Blahpril” like I read it at first.
You may know Blaugust – the month where the blogging community comes together and tries to post one blog post a day, or 31 in total. With the current situation being as it is, several people approached Belghast and suggested Blaugust to take place earlier this year, more specifically: In April!
As you may have noticed, this blog here has become rather silent lately. New job, moving, getting ill – several things have happened that made me not want to sit down in the evenings to write about games I didn’t even have the time or energy to play in the first place! But I do want to give Blapril a try and I like being part of such community events.
So, now that you know that I’m going to participate, you may be wondering if you should as well, given that you have a blog or create one! It is, of course, open for everybody to participate. It will begin on March 29th and end on April 30. The goal is to make 31 blog posts during that time. It doesn’t matter whether you blog about games, cooking recipes, places you want to travel once Corona has been beaten, dogs, cats, dragons, …what else is there? Well, anything goes.
If you’re new to blogging, sign up as a newbie. We have several people around who’ve been blogging for years and who can answer all the questions you may have! If you’ve already got experience, sign up as a mentor if you want to help others. You can also just sign up as a regular participant if you don’t want to assign yourself to the other two roles. You can read everything about the rules or rather how it’s going to work in Belghast’s blog post about Blapril. There is also a Discord server for us to mingle that’s been around for quite some time yet.
I assume that most of you who are reading this aren’t interested in blogging yourself, but rather come here to read blogs – and hopefully leave a comment or two. This is about coming together, after all! Once there’s a list of participants, I will link to all of them here as well! The ones I have seen so far announcing their participation are Syp from BioBreak, ChestNut from Gamer Girl Confessions (welcome back!), Naithin from Time to Loot and Roger from Contains Moderate Peril. I am sure there are going to be a lot more soon.
