Screenshot Saturday: Equilinox

The past few days I’ve spent quite a bit of my gaming time playing Equilinox. It is a little indie game that simulates an ecosystem. You can put plants, trees, herbs and some animals in there and if the conditions are met, you can evolve them to other plants or animals or change their colours. So it is not super realistic, but it’s cute and quite relaxing. In fact, you can let the game run in the background for hours and not even pay attention to it, but everything is fine once you return.

It also plays a bit like a puzzle in that you need to make sure you meet certain conditions: e. g., at least one rock, a special kind of tree and grass for animal X to live there happily while animal Y can’t stand rocks and thus, won’t be happy there.
